Choose a trusted broker

We love what we do and are eager to help our clients and collaborators so that we become their trusted choice. We are actively involved in awareness and education campaigns in the insurance industry; therefore, we would like to share with you some simple ways to take safety measures against fraud.

Furthermore, through Destine Holding, we support the professional development of brokerage assistants by providing the necessary support to reach the desired performance level.
It is very important to ensure that an insurance broker is authorized and supervised by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) before collaborating with them. Below are concrete methods you can use to verify this.

Check the ASF register

The Financial Supervisory Authority has an online public register with all authorized insurance intermediaries, including brokers.
Here you can search by the company’s name or the company’s Unique Identification Code (CUI).
If the broker is authorized, you will find information such as the ASF decision number, status, office address, and the name of the company director.

Request official documents from the broker

A serious and trusted broker should be able to present:

  • The ASF authorization (copy of the authorization decision or the registration certificate in the register)
  • The professional liability insurance policy (mandatory insurance for brokers)
  • The unique ASF code / CUI of the company.

Check the ASF Register

Verify the people advising you

If you are speaking with a personal intermediary, they must be:

  • An employee of an authorized broker or
  • A brokerage assistant registered with the ASF.

You can also verify these individuals in the ASF register (there is a separate section for them) or on the website of the authorized broker.

Be careful of warning signs

Avoid a “broker” if:

  • They ask you to make a payment into a personal account (not a company account).
  • They do not provide official documents for the policies (with the insurance company’s logo and unique serial number).
  • They do not appear in the ASF register.
  • They do not have a physical office, website, or publicly available and transparent contact information.

Check reviews and verify reputation

Always check the insurance broker before signing a policy! You can further verify their reviews on Google or Facebook, or on specialized insurance portals or trusted news sources (1asig, profit.ro, economica.net, wall-street.ro, etc.).
