The insurance of legal civil liability of the owners of dangerous and aggressive dogs comes in addition to the laws regarding the keeping of dogs in Romania. Thus, the owners of dogs belonging to breeds considered to be dangerous are obliged to conclude a civil insurance policy, for the eventual damages caused by them.

What are the obligations of a dangerous dog owner?
Owners of dogs considered dangerous or aggressive have the obligation to display on the doors of their properties inscriptions such as: “Bad dog” or “Attention, dangerous dog” to announce the existence of such a quadruped. They are also obliged by law to register them with the dog associations and the Police, as well as with the observance of the legislation regarding their walk on a special leash, with a safety system and with a muzzle.
